Diego de la Rosa has been working professionally as a choreographer, performer, and pedagogue since 2013. His journey began at the age of 14, when he discovered breaking and immersed himself in hip-hop culture, exploring various urban dance styles. In 2011, he moved to Germany, where he encountered contemporary dance, performance, and physical theatre, elements that helped him develop a hybrid artistic language.

In 2013, he co-founded the Frantics collective in Berlin, where he has since worked as co-choreographer, performer, and dramaturgical assistant. Since 2014, he has collaborated with numerous institutions and companies, including Theater Strahl (Berlin), Hungry Sharks (Vienna), and Theater Bonn, performing in operas under the direction of Laura Scozzi. He has also worked with Theater Bremen, directed by Alexandra Morales and Gregor Runge, sharing productions with Helder Seabra, Samir Akika and Hodworks, and with Staatstheater Kassel under Johannes Wieland. Additionally, he collaborated with Stadttheater Gießen alongside Constantin Hochkeppel, serving as rehearsal director and choreographic assistant with Ursina Tossi.

Among his most notable creations and co-creations are: Last (supported by Tanztage 2016 at Sophiensaele Berlin), Dis.Order (2021, supported by NPN), and Dust & Recuerdos (2024, with the support of Kanton St. Gallen). His works have received multiple awards, including: One’s (awarded at the 31st Hannover International Choreographic Competition), Space (1st Prize at BUNY 2020, 2nd Prize at the 34th Hannover Competition, and award-winner at Machol Shalem 2022), and Past Memories (awarded at the 37th Certamen Coreográfico de Madrid, 2023).

Alongside his creative practice, he developed Dramaturgical Body, his own pedagogical approach, through which he has led research workshops in bachelor’s and master’s programs across Europe, as well as in countries in Asia and Africa. He actively works as a choreographic and dramaturgical assistant for other creators and is engaged in mentoring groups, companies, and individual processes (1:1). Since 2022, he has been training in Dramaturgy and Direction at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona.
